Like most braiding techniques you'll find that this one is tricky at first but becomes much easier with practice; by the fourth or fifth go you'll be able to do it in a matter of minutes - promise!
Read on for a step-by-step tutorial on how to do a waterfall braid.

One part old world, two parts bohemian, the waterfall braid is one hundred per cent gorgeous.
Step One: Start with second day hair. Take a small section from the front hairline and divide it into three parts, just as you would for a normal braid.
Step Two: Braid this section three times normally, then let the third section fall with the rest of your hair.
Step Three: Pick up another section of hair to replace the one you let fall (keeping in mind that you want to work diagonally around your head, rather than going straight back like with a normal braid). Continue to braid.
Step Four: Add new hair in to the braid from the middle of your head, but continue to let the third section fall with the rest of your hair, before replacing it with a new strand. This is what will give the braid its 'waterfall' look.
Step Five: Continue around your head in this manner, then tie the braid off securely and pin it close to your head.
Happy braiding!
